Introduction

Designed to make chatting, finding your friends, and finding games easier, ScumBot brings a number of cool features to your Battle.Net experience.

Features

Channel Watch - Keep tabs on all your favorite channels at once! Continuously updated, Channel Watch lets you see where the players are right now... without having to leave your current channel or constantly typing "/whois channelx". A quick glance shows you how many players are in each channel. Then just click once to reveal the users there...

Private Chat Windows - Chatting on Battle.Net just became much simpler with ScumBot. Open a private chat window with a friend and you're free to chat... even if either of you are busy moving from channel to channel or your friend is in a game. See a user in the Channel Watch that you know? Just double click on his name. Someone privately messages you? ScumBot can be set to automatically launch a chat window! Go about your business in Windows and its easy for you're friends to reach you.

Favorite Channel Sharing - Ever wonder where all those 70,000 users were? There are hundreds, if not thousands of private channels out there... but since they are private, there's no way to know what they are called. Channel sharing allows you to offer your channel list to others easily. ScumBot also recognizes when someone else displays their channel list and automatically adds those channels to your channel list!

What ScumBot Is

ScumBot has been designed to be a "player's bot". With a strong chat client foundation and new bot features, ScumBot plays double duty.

As a chat client, ScumBot provides all the basic functions you'd expect in chat. Additionally, ScumBot makes available many other features including Channel Watch, private chat windows, users online display, favorite channel list, favorite channel sharing, ignored users list, automatic reconnects, and more.

As a bot, ScumBot supplies basic bot commands such as !say, !who, !server to help with Battle.Net splits. ScumBot also provides many other bot functions that are not available elsewhere such as Channel Watch, favorite channel sharing, and status broadcasting.

What ScumBot Is Not

ScumBot is NOT a "channel holding" bot. Winters, the most popular "channel holding" bot, is an excellent piece of software. If you need a bot to keep lamers out by holding the hammer, I highly recommend Winters (I myself use it). Gradually ScumBot will gain these features as well... but for now, ScumBot is not recomended for channel holding.

Bot Commands

!away - View user's current away message
!cw - Displays Channel Watch results
!home - Show user's home channel
!say - Talk through the bot
!server - Show server number the bot is connected to
!share - View user's favorite channel listing
!users - Find out how many users the bot sees online
!ver - Check bot version number
!who - List users bot sees in the channel

Future of ScumBot

Ahh... there are so many things I would like to add to ScumBot. I'm keeping many of these things under wraps for now, but I will say that "Winters-compatable" database functions are near the top of my list. Adding this user database will open up the highly useful !seen, !whois, !allseen commands. I also plan to give users more control in appearance of the chat side.
