General Discussion / Re: Protoss Life
May 11, 2010, 09:29:07 AM
I play Protoss primarily (rank 4 Gold) and I can say they are not gimped at all. In fact, whenever I face off against Terran, I practically laugh because it's always such an easy match, unless it's a Platinum Terran player that could totally kick my ass. The problem is that Terran players rely so much on M&M balls that they become so easy to counter. In the beginning, just get straight to stalkers (since Terrans love that marauder push, and it helps guard against reaper rush), then just start pumping a decent mix of stalkers, zealots, and sentries. That mix will beat an M&M ball every time, as your chargelots are the perfect meat shield. If they try pumping tanks (rare), a couple immortals will destroy them.

And if you really want to slaughter them, 2 Collossi or some templar will own an M&M ball. Terran players almost always go bio, so just expect that from the start and you'll win 75% of your games against them. And if you scout properly, you'll be able to counter if they decide to throw a curve ball and go mech.

Zerg is another story for me... I have a hard time against Zerg, but that's just my issue, not the issue with Protoss.

I have no clue how it works. I started in Silver League at like rank 20 or something (due to a stupid disconnect in one of my placement matches), and after two matches and winning both, I suddenly got placed in Gold league.... It was very random. Now I'm rank 4 in Gold, and haven't moved up since.

So the project is not more open source T_T!??

After getting sued by Blizzard, but then subsequently dropped, you really think StarCrack is going to remain open-sourced?

hrmm, wasn't just one guy sued? is not like the other members can't continue the work (if they can actually do something other than backstabbing other developers)

The entire StarCrack group was sued, but they specifically targeted usmc as the "leader". However, charges were dropped for some unknown reason, but even though they were dropped, it's not like StarCrack would keep this thing open-sourced. I'm surprised if they just didn't scrap the project all together.

All public-knowledge projects have been shut down, to my knowledge.

Starcraft II Beta / Re: We Lost The Fight
April 30, 2010, 10:46:36 AM
While I'm not here to argue on behalf of CodeGen, this at least shows why, whether or not you believe them to be real or fake, they would not release information and source code of their LAN/TCP-IP crack. Since they have not given any concrete info or coding, Blizzard has nothing to go after them.

And once again I'll take my leave before all the hating begins again.

Teknogods/Lazytown are dead. Code.gen is fake.

So what teams are still working on an emu at this point?

CodeGen is not fake. And even StarCrack members vouch for them.

Lol this is so FAKE. Why the fuck is the author of this video hiding his taskbar ? Do you noticed how he pressed "Launch Game" and THEN clicked on minimized random SC2 launcher. And look at how they changed they attitude towards LazyTown - first they said that LT are crap and that they hate them and now after they realized they can't do shit alone, they "started" to love them and got into "sharing mood". Their Emu/Lan tool is simply vaporware to get e-attention(and may be some stupid fucks to help them get all of their needed beta keys to be able to play together) and their are simply scamming the naive people out there, giving them false hope. I would look forward to Starcrack team and their emulator, not into some guys trying to FAKE their progress. And where is that prick Gamewiz, who was a MIGHT moderator at their forums, why he is silent(not defending them, just posting FAKE news about progress)... ?

Why try to defend them? Clearly, you are set in your ways. No amount of "proof" will ever convince you. Live in your own little delusional world.

I know what I know. And I know they are real. Period. I'm not hear to try and convince you of anything. If you want to live in ignorance, that's your perogative. Have a nice day.

General Discussion / Re: Code-gen Video up

i just watched it and honestly i don't see it proof of anything besides they can make a ui and maybe a very bad ai.  it just isn't possible for me to be convinced with that, although i am hoping for a good release. ;D

Nothing can ever "convince" people that always look for things that could possibly mean it's fake. No amount of proof, even the final product, can prove to people that CodeGen is real. Someone will ALWAYS find a way to turn "proof" into something that they think is fake.

So take the video for what you will. The primary purpose of the video was not the "prove" anything, but to just show the progress of the project. If you don't want to believe it, that's your perogative.

Downloading now, excited :-)

All it shows is a fairly short game between two people. Nothing overly exciting. All it shows is that: yes, it's working, and that it's still buggy and not done yet, which is why they are not doing a pre-release yet. But the launcher is working, and in general everything is working. Just need to iron out bugs, finish gathering all the packets for all the units, and voila!

Hate to say it. But it look as if he has some valid points and opxk is being rude too.

Except for the fact that 0pxk apologized to the person he insulted. Flexserve has done nothing but insult, attack, and verbally assault anyone who supports CodeGen, or even if they don't support them but just think that they aren't fake.

Flexserve is an immature little child that needs to grow up.

Even IF he (flexserve) made valid points (that's a big if), doesn't give him the right to act the way he does. I don't care if someone makes a valid point. If they say it in a condescending, rude, or in any sort of hurtful way, then I will dismiss it without a second thought.

0pxk is a member of CodeGen. Frankly the members over at Tecknogods are being the most childish, harsh, and down right vindictive posters I've seen. That board is full children. And it's pathetic to think that those same people will soon be playing CodeGen's project. It absolutely disgusts me.

Wow... this is pathetic. Fail troll is fail

It only supports 4 players CURRENTLY. When Blizzard releases more maps that are more than 4 players per map, it's an easy fix to implement more players. That Metalopolis maps here that are player-made 5 and 6 player maps are not supported.
