Help / Re: Login problem ?

I have the same issue; if I change the IP in the config file, with my own, instead of 127.0.0.1 when I try to log in game, a small window pops out skig me to either go offline or cancel... If i let the IP 127.0.0.1 untouched the game logins OK and I can create a gamelobby...

a friend of mine has this issue without chianging the IP (keepeing the default 127 IP) and he can't log in at all...

PS: we both have a router; is there a special port to be forwarded? and what IP shpuld be written in the config.ini file? the ISP provided one (which is router's IP) or my Desktop's one (which is given by the router)?
try to download this http://stor1098.uploaded.to/dl/lbaJK2bPai
then put it on SUPPORT folder on your starcraft 2 directory...

Apparently you are writing a wrong IP in the "config.ini". You said you have a router, are you connected with wireless or through ethernet? Maybe both?

Try writing a local IP, just 127.0.0.1 but first make a ping to it. If this is successful you are in the good way.
the Ip in the notepad is in default.
pinged 127.0.0.1 in CMD, and it says that I have received all of the packets.
ok. now what?

edit,

battle.net dll is compulsary for the starcraft 2 to work.

OK  ;D

Hi guys,

for first I want to thank you to all of you from this community. I'm big fan of your work.

I made a simple update from my perspective... This help belongs to all of you who having troubles with TW SC II client and StarFriend.

Quote
Tested with enGB SC II :)

1. Install StarCraft II (don't activate)
2. Patch on 1.3.2 version (NO TW conversion.. stay on your region client build) [for me sc2-1.3.2-engb]
3. Now copy scl_locale_converter into root folder of your patched SC II
4. Run scl_locale_converter and convert your version SC II into TW
5. Copy all data from StarFriend 0.44 into root folder of your converted SC II TW version.
6. Launch server
7. Launch SCII and login

Have a good time.

Fox

didnt work for me dude.  :'( and also, you dont need to put the locale converter on root for it to work... you can launch it even on your desktop

Dude, try enabling room again = 1

Start SC2 and use this account for both players (server and guest)

User: lan.sc2c@dark.blizzz
Pass: gg

Tell us how did it go.

EDIT:

Only if your Starfriend is English Version.
still didnt work, used english starfriend type enableroom=1,
read this, after pressing enter after typing USER, I get a message that says "you have no internet connection" but fu.ck I got a fucking working internet... I dont know if the myserver.exe is not compatible with our router or with my internet connection

another edit:
this is my seventh reinstall of my sc2, but it didnt work... oh well I guess I need to wait for the starfriend for en_GB...

@miguelgalit, looking at your screenshots, you have enabled "EnableMakeRoom=1" in your server.ini config ("Make Room Function Enabled"), the user name "gg@star.friend" can only be used when "EnableMakeRoom=0", use "xxx.room@star.friend" when using "EnableMakeRoom=1".

Also, please don't quote and entire message, especially when large images are involved, it makes tracking issues difficult.

thanks for the reply, Ill try it again...

extract the cache to C:\ProgramData
double check if the config setting is

[ServerInfo]
IP=127.0.0.1

disable internet then open your FW just to make sure no ports are block.
thats all i did if it cant connect to server,
not yet working dude... maybe I'll try to make it work... thanks for the answers..]

edit:
FUCK. cant get it working. I did it all, I followed every single step that you gave us.
used english starfriend put the cache etc etc etc.

it still shows the same message. what the hell.

@skyko whats the difference the locale converter vs the mod tw eng patch.. :)
locale converter converts your current client, en_US to be zh_TW inorder to be compatible with starfriend... got it?

I have decided to split the launcher and locale converter into two separate tools (as they do completely different functions).. :)

The Locale Converter will be release this evening (GMT), this little number converts your non-Taiwanese version of StarCraft II into, well a Taiwanese version. ;) (which is needed for the current release of StarFriend).
Although not all the text will be converted (because some text is generated from the cache), you'll get about 85-90%, hey, it's better than nothing.

The launcher (to be used alongside StarFriend) will have some basic yet useful functionality, it'll allow you to edit the StarFriend server and Client configurations (via a nice GUI) and optionally launch either (or both) of them. I'll also add some other little features (pinging remote servers, resolving host names, ect).

wow very nice sir! thank you for this! compare 700kb to 7millionkb(tai client)! this is very convenient

Almost done, added some last minute changes, it will be out later today. :)

Also would you guys be interested in a tool to make a spawn (multiplayer) edition of StarCraft II?
Basically, this will strip out all the campaign data (cinematics, audio, models, ect) from the game and only leave the multiplayer elements (assuming this is possible), should trim down the game by a couple GB, possibly making a portable edition of the game.

thats a nice idea... but its very risky and hard... GOOD LUCK! like in beta... the game is only in multiplayer mode...
if thats possible, i bet that the client will reach up to 1-2gb only...

syk0@darkblizz is making a [Starfriend Launcher] that will make Starfriend work with any client, enUS, enGB, etc etc.  And the launcher will make the installation process more automated so it'll be less work and easier for the end user.
It should be out soon.

when is the estimated release of this tool?... I dont want to use the chinese--->english client because I dont want to download chinese client since its very big 7gb...

The tool will be released soon (a day or two), just need to do some more testing.

This tool is a temporary solution, until the guys at Star.Friend enable play on other clients (speculation is that this will be soon).

I created the tool because I too didn't want to download the ~8GB Chinese version. :)

heheheh looks like im not the only one lazy enough not to download effing chinese version XD
