General Discussion / Re: Starcraft 2 Casts
May 02, 2010, 04:53:53 AM
Posted some more videos.

If I can hit 50 subscribers I'll be giving away a beta key (friend invite) to 1 random subscriber. If I can hit 75 subscribers I will be giving away TWO keys.

The giveaway will be in the form of a number assigned to your name when you subscribe (1-50, 1-75), and I will use a RNG to pick the numbers.

Any additional friend invites will be given away as well.

Hey everyone, long time member since the beginning of the beta. Recently I did get into the beta, and have been watching lots of replays and castings ever since. I was inspired by Husky and HD to start doing these too.

http://www.youtube.com/schickysc

If you enjoy watching these types of videos, check mine out. Since there is already Husky, HD, and Rise, I probably will not be doing many or any pro games. Most will be my own games, (gold division) but I will also be casting some of my friends games. I will cast any level of game, as long as it has some kind of entertainment or learning value.

There are many sides to this game besides just the pro circuit and I think people need to realize that!

Anyway, thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy. Feel free to leave comments here or on youtube.

Glad to see more small commentators getting into it. I lost my respect for HD when he did a beta key contest at the point in beta when it was just totally lies and bullshit. Then he sold out as a youtube partner, but not using the partner abilities to make a single video to make more money for his greedy ass. And I don't really like husky that much for working with that sellout faggot.

I was inspired by diggitysc, but most of all another somewhat underground commentator vaulsc.

I also do commentating: http://www.youtube.com/user/ArcliteTankSC

I have gotten great feedback, but HD and husky have all of the publicity.

...Wow someone is jealous.

I'm a bit jealous of them. They are very popular, got to run their own tournament, and seem to be publicly accepted. I don't know if Drew's comments means hes jealous.

Anyway. Just casted 3-4 more replays, and should be uploaded by the AM.

I retract my previous comment. Apparently you can add a trial and then opt in. Fail blizzard. Fail.

Funny how accounts cannot opt in without a full game attached to it already. Clearly you got a key off facebook and now wanna charge someone for it. Grats to you.

People should beware, paypal will not protect you in the purchase of a virtual item like a CD KEY/Email. If you use their dispute claim system, they will just rule in favor of the seller.

Been there. Done that.

Starcraft II Beta / Re: Emulate Battle.net

In case someone has read this and hasn't bothered to read the thread about the StarCrack emu (or they arrive to this thread through google): the Starcrack team is getting close to getting working matches. At this rate, it won't be long at all before matches are possible. That is, unless they hit a snag and something slows down the development.

Actually at this point I don't think Starcrack has even looked at getting matches to work. I believe they are just emulating battle.net (and doing a freaking great job I need to add).

So far codegen is the only group I have seen post progress on coding/decoding the actually games/packets/commands sent between players.

I could be wrong, they may be working on that as well. I could also be wrong and the emulated battle.net service may have these codes imbedded in it already? Who knows. Not I.

Yeah... Most of the time, we organize small LAN Parties. And 80% of the time we do not have an internet connection. That really means we will have no choice about using a LAN crack.

You are telling me, that in the year 2010, you cannot plan your LAN party somewhere with Internet access? Unless you live in a 3rd world country, I find this extremely hard to believe...

When SC2 beta came out, I played SC1 again religiously for a month. The lag was sick, and 3 out of 4 games i tried to join had the error "Cannot join the game, latency is too high".

I can honestly say after playing SC2 beta for 6 hours last night, Each game only took 1 minute to queue up for, and each game was virtually lag free. I am 100% confident with Battle.net 2.0 and it's ability to deliver low latency games for me and my friends. My connection is only 5mb down 1.5mb up, which is relatively cheap. If I get more friends with keys, I will host a gaming night one weekend and see what happens when 2 or 4 people are trying to play at once.

I support blizz in their goal to make Bnet 2.0 the standard source of multiplayer gaming.

I will buy the game and then pirate a LAN crack so that I can still play LAN.

That's the answer I was looking for  :D

Blizzard has trumped Microsoft in douchebag corporate decisions :ticked:

Definitely pirating the game now.

That's a douchebag attitude. You were gonna pirate the game to begin with.

As i've been strongly saying for weeks now, it is now official.

http://starcraft.incgamers.com/blog/comments/no-starcraft-ii-lan-support-official/

LAN Will not be implemented into Starcraft II, in ANY way, shape, or form. Battle.net must be used completely for multiplayer.

(Single player will of course still have an offline mode)

Need Maphack                                                                                       CraniX maphack not good for 1on1 games leader

Or you could just play the game legitimately and let the game put you in a league for your skill level instead of having to cheat to up your rank?

wow, this patch changes a lot of stuff, specially prizes. I hate the Banneling damage boost, I think they were ok, two explosions just kills a marauder...

Marauders have 125HP, and are not Light Units....can someone explain how a baneling kills a marauder in 2 hits?  ::)
